Penn Relays Corporate Distance Medley

Congratulations to Team EwingCole who ran in the Penn Relays Corporate Distance Medley relay on Friday, April 26 at historic Franklin Field, the oldest and largest track and field competition in the United States.  This is the 4th year in a row EwingCole sponsored a team for the event.  This year’s team members were Zachary Wagner, Vicky Huang, Marie Ruisard & Matthew Hayes.

Team EwingCole had to overcome some unforeseen circumstances this year: last minute changes to the team members, 2-hour rain delay, 1 tornado warning, and a very slippery running surface.  Six out of 21 corporate teams failed to show due the adverse weather conditions which made the event field more competitive.  Around 9:00pm, a tired, hungry, and wet Team EwingCole was finally called to the start line and finished a solid 9th out of 15 teams from around the country.  The total race distance was 2 1/2 miles and their finish pace was 5:22 min per mile.
