United Therapeutics Hosts Community Meeting on Initial Concept for New Office Building

A team from United Therapeutics hosted a virtual presubmission community meeting last night to present the company’s initial concept to redevelop the former Hampton Inn/Homewood Suites property at 8728 Colesville Rd.

The company intends to build additional office space, according to Dewey Steadman, UT’s investor relations director.

“Among other things, we plan to house employees that support our efforts to develop, produce, and deliver our medicines to patients in need,” Steadman told the Source. “It is not intended to be a manufacturing facility.”

The company purchased the property in October of last year and said at the time the intent was to use it for office space, either by repurposing the building (originally built as office space) or putting up a new building as an annex to the existing Unisphere.

UT is once again using EwingCole as its architecture/engineering firm. The company has worked on four other UT buildings along Spring Street.
