Patient Tower and Campus Expansion

WakeMed Health & Hospitals is a leading provider of health services in North Carolina with a mission to improve the well-being of the community through outreach and patient-centered care. To achieve the goal of accessibility and exposure, the new five-story, 103-bed Patient Tower redefines the entrance for the entire Main Campus with a new grand entry lobby and waiting area. With two of the four floors dedicated to new high-volume suites, the tower is advantageously located to limit travel distance from existing nursing units. Other features include a 20-bed Intensive Care Unit, 8-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and procedure rooms, along with relocation of the existing centralized Chiller Generator Plant and expanded 1,200-space parking garage.
