The global eSports industry is expected to gross $2.2 billion by the end of 2022. Unsurprisingly, Seton Hill University wanted to provide students the opportunity to participate in the global phenomenon. EwingCole designed a 900 SF eSports center on the ground floor of Seton Hill’s Canevin Hall. Designated as existing flex space, the design accommodates 14 – 24 gaming stations, each outfitted with a monitor, keyboard, mouse, comfortable seating, and audio equipment. New dynamic LED lighting can be manipulated depending on the user’s mood and the game being played. The eSports center includes a podium for showcases during competitions, locker facilities, and a lounge. Designers leveraged Seton Hill branding and school colors throughout to create a unique space that instills excitement and pride in the new intercollegiate program.
