Cooper University Health Care, southern New Jersey’s premier academic health system, sought to consolidate several high-demand, adult outpatient services under one, easy-to access location. After obtaining a prominent location on Route 70 in Cherry Hill, Cooper’s goal was to renovate this four-story, 88,000 square-foot, former office building into a state-of-the-art specialty care experience commensurate with their standard of care. EwingCole designed the exterior to include a new addition to the building that enhances the functionality of the existing building, provides for a new canopy and extended lobby area, as well as the addition of prominent signage that increases brand visibility. The facility planning includes separate patient and staff circulation paths, creating on and off-stage zones; supporting the patient experience. This creative planning supports a flexible arrangement of clinical providers and practices. The interior design ties in Cooper’s brand identity throughout the space. There are 100 exam rooms along with testing and on-site procedures for specialty services, including cardiology, endocrinology, nephrology, neurology, neurosurgery, physical therapy, and orthopedics. The final phase, anticipated to be completed in 2021, will include a new Imaging Suite.
