Rutgers University is transforming its athletic facilities to encourage student-athlete development in support of its Athletics Strategic Vision. The recent upgrades at the Hale Center are a result of a three-year phased renovation that takes advantage of underutilized space beneath SHI Stadium. Working within the existing building footprint, EwingCole and Natoli Construction increased the size of the sports medicine area to better facilitate player treatment on gamedays, and renovated staff and team meeting rooms with upgraded branding and technology. The new players’ lounge creates a dynamic gathering space for the team, and the new nutrition center provides a much-needed refueling station. The state-of-the-art recovery suite promotes healing by adding a salt pod room, infrared saunas, dry float therapy, electric cryotherapy, and a vibroacoustic therapy suite.
