Bradley Barracks, initially constructed in 1969, is the largest cadet housing facility at the United States Military Academy at West Point. As part of the Army’s Cadet Barracks Upgrade Program (CBUP), the building required a full modernization to address aging infrastructure and enhance the quality of life for its occupants.

To meet this need, USMA enlisted the Jacobs-EwingCole joint venture to design a phased renovation that allowed the facility to remain partially occupied during construction. The six-story, 305,221-square-foot structure now features updated infrastructure, utilities, and finishes, along with a complete transformation of cadet living areas.

The upper floors house 824 cadets in contemporary suites with upgraded bathrooms, expanded storage, and shared collaboration zones. At the basement level, designers introduced a new game room, mechanical and electrical rooms, and additional cadet storage. Enhancements to the building’s exterior, energy-efficient LED lighting and water-saving plumbing systems reflect West Point’s growing focus on sustainability.

Bradley Barracks now meets the performance standards of USGBC LEED v4 Silver, providing a durable, efficient, and modern residential environment that supports cadet wellness and mission readiness.
