EwingCole Wins 2026 IIDA Healthcare Design Award for Northwell Health Cardiology Center

Philadelphia, PA (October 26, 2026) – EwingCole has received a 2026 International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Healthcare Design Award for its work on the Northwell Health Center for Advanced Medicine Cardiology in Lake Success, New York. The 15th annual awards program recognized the project in the Ambulatory Specialty Clinic category and celebrates creativity and innovation in healthcare facility design.
Located within a repurposed World War II-era manufacturing building, the 8,678-square-foot cardiology clinic combines a welcoming patient experience with flexible clinical planning. The design separates patient and family spaces from clinical support areas while maintaining staff visibility and efficient workflows. Modular exam rooms, offices, and support spaces accommodate evolving care models and future expansion, while existing clerestory windows introduce natural daylight deep into the clinic.
“This recognition reflects the thoughtful collaboration between our design team and Northwell Health to create an environment that supports patients, families, and caregivers,” said Mary Frazier, AIA, LEEP AP, director of healthcare planning at EwingCole. “Healthcare environments must respond to the needs of the people using them today while remaining adaptable to the demands of tomorrow. This project demonstrates how interior design can improve the care experience while supporting long-term operational growth.”
The IIDA Healthcare Design Awards recognize outstanding healthcare interiors across ambulatory, hospital, extended care, and assisted living facilities. A jury of healthcare design professionals selected this year’s winners.

The 2026 Healthcare Design Award winners will be honored during IIDA’s awards celebration on November 12, 2026.
