Monmouth University, known for its strong academic programs and competitive athletics, recently advanced into the Big South Conference, raising the bar for its athletic facilities. To support this transition and elevate the fan experience, the University set out to transform its existing stadium into a premier collegiate venue.
The original Kessler Field lacked the infrastructure, seating capacity, and amenities expected of a Division I program. The University needed a facility that would reflect its ambitions, engage the campus community, and meet the standards of high-level collegiate competition.
The new design reimagined Kessler Field as a first-class stadium that balances function, atmosphere, and campus context. The structure integrates seamlessly with the surrounding architecture, including the adjacent MAC Arena, while creating a bold visual identity on game day. Innovative structural solutions allowed for increased seating and improved sightlines on the upper levels, while the area beneath the seating bowl was used to maximize programmatic flexibility.
The stadium now includes upgraded VIP amenities, a new press box, and a multimedia center, enhancing the fan and athlete experience.
As a result, the reimagined Kessler Field has become an iconic presence on campus, supporting Monmouth’s growing athletics program and delivering a dynamic environment for students, alumni, and fans alike.
