Pelicans Ballpark Clubhouse Renovations
Myrtle Beach, SC
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans, the Single A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, are known for developing future major league talent and delivering memorable fan experiences along the South Carolina coast. To remain a top destination for player growth and meet new Professional Development League (PDL) Facility Standards mandated by Major League Baseball, the City and the organization are undertaking a comprehensive upgrade to the ballpark.
The project addresses the critical need for modernized facilities that support player performance and meet evolving league requirements. A new 28,200-square-foot clubhouse addition anchors the renovation, featuring a 13,340-square-foot home clubhouse, a 5,370-square-foot visiting clubhouse, and a 9,500-square-foot athletic performance center with six full-length indoor hitting and pitching lanes, flexible for a variety of training programs, and which can also be utilized year-round for community events.
Additional improvements include converting the existing visiting clubhouse into dedicated male and female umpire facilities, relocating bullpens off-field, and modifying the outfield wall for improved safety and playability. The renovation also adds new stadium seats, a new scoreboard control room, upgraded press and broadcast spaces, a pre-engineered maintenance shed, new LED scoreboard and ribbon boards, and secure player parking.
The result is a facility that not only exceeds MLB’s PDL standards but also enhances player development, training, and game-day operations. By combining advanced performance spaces with strategic upgrades throughout the ballpark, the renovation ensures Pelicans Ballpark remains a premier environment for both players and fans.
