Native New York Exhibit
New York, NY
The Smithsonian Institution’s Museum of the American Indian amplifies native voices, heritage, and culture. Its latest exhibit, Native New York, traces a 400-mile path through Upstate New York and New York City, exploring five centuries of history. Updates to the gallery included interior architecture and finishes, specialized lighting, structural modifications, and upgrades to HVAC, fire alarms, and building management systems to create an immersive experience. The exhibit’s dynamic environment required enhanced power, data, and AV distribution to support interactive digital displays woven with collection artifacts. Custom flooring guides visitors along the historical journey, creating an engaging and immersive space that connects the past with the present.
