Cortlandt Manor, NY
New York-Presbyterian, one of the nation’s leading academic health systems, is committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care across all stages of life. At Hudson Valley Hospital, that commitment guided the renovation of its 17,000-square-foot Maternal and Newborn Care Unit, designed to provide an elevated birth experience for mothers, infants, and families alike.
The design integrates modern healthcare advances with improved flexibility and infection control to ensure a safe, supportive, and responsive environment for patients and staff.
The updated unit includes:
- Four private labor and delivery rooms
- Eight private ante/post-partum rooms
- Two operating rooms
- Level 2 NICU
The design integrates modern healthcare advances with improved flexibility and infection control to ensure a safe, supportive, and responsive environment for patients and staff.
Calming design elements throughout the space promote wellness and reduce stress. Daylight floods patient rooms and shared spaces, while natural materials, artwork, and soft textures bring warmth and a connection to nature. Multiple respite areas give families choice and comfort during one of life’s most meaningful moments.
The renovated unit reflects NewYork-Presbyterian’s mission to care for both body and mind, offering a modern, nurturing setting for childbirth in the Hudson Valley.
