This renovated and connected facility enhances manufacturing, research, and office functions to support Kite Pharma’s 24/7 therapeutic operations.
Manufacturing and Office Facility
El Segundo, CA
Kite Pharma is a global leader in engineered T-cell therapies that harness the power of the immune system to treat blood cancers. To meet the increasing demand for clinical trial therapies across the U.S. and Europe, Kite needed a facility that could boost manufacturing capacity while supporting continuous operations and future growth.
To support this need, the company expanded its El Segundo campus with the development of a new 45,000-square-foot current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) facility. The project involved partial renovations of two existing buildings and a connector addition, creating a cohesive, highly functional campus. The space features ISO-7 clean room suites for T-cell manufacturing, as well as quality control laboratories, training areas, GMP warehouse facilities, and flexible office zones.
Designed to operate 24/7, the facility includes walkable ceilings above cGMP areas, allowing maintenance access without disrupting production. The infrastructure also supports future scalability with the addition of chilled water systems, condensing boilers, air handlers, and a second emergency generator for uninterrupted power.
By streamlining production and support functions under one roof, the facility enables Kite Pharma to accelerate its mission of delivering innovative immunotherapy treatments to more patients worldwide
