Kentucky Horse Park, a renowned working horse farm and educational theme park, sought to expand its ability to host large-scale outdoor events. With a growing demand for premier equestrian competitions and entertainment experiences, the Park recognized the need for a purpose-built stadium that could accommodate various event types and diverse audiences.
To meet this challenge, EOP and EwingCole collaborated on the design of the new Rolex Stadium. The facility features a 7,338-seat main grandstand and accommodates up to 30,000 additional guests with temporary bleacher seating. This flexible capacity enables the stadium to seamlessly transition between equestrian events, concerts, and various sporting events, including soccer and football.
Today, Rolex Stadium is the largest outdoor concert venue in Central Kentucky, with a maximum capacity nearing 52,000. Its adaptable design supports the Park’s mission to engage the community, celebrate equestrian excellence, and serve as a dynamic cultural destination.
