Penn Lacrosse Locker Room Renovation
Philadelphia, PA
The University of Pennsylvania has built a nationally recognized athletics program rooted in tradition, performance, and student-athlete development. To support continued success, the university sought to upgrade its lacrosse facilities with modern amenities while preserving the historic character of Franklin Field.
The lacrosse locker room renovation at Franklin Field transformed two existing spaces into contemporary environments tailored to the needs of both men’s and women’s programs. The project renovated the men’s lacrosse locker room and converted the men’s track locker room into a new women’s lacrosse suite. The design team introduced custom lockers, integrated branding, improved accessibility, and upgraded mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The team also incorporated modular infrastructure solutions to fit new systems within the constraints of a 100-year-old structure.
This approach improves daily functionality while strengthening recruitment by delivering spaces that reflect the program’s competitive ambitions. Durable, maintainable finishes and enhanced lighting create brighter, more flexible environments, while integrated technology supports team operations and player development.
The result is a pair of locker rooms that meet the expectations of modern collegiate athletics while honoring Franklin Field’s legacy. The women’s facility introduces a spa-like atmosphere with a dedicated film room, and the men’s renovation demonstrates how targeted interventions can significantly transform an existing footprint. Together, the upgrades provide Penn lacrosse with high-performing spaces that support athletes on and off the field.
