For over 130 years, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center has led the way in cancer treatment, research, and education. As part of its mission to expand access to high-quality care, MSKCC sought to bring its outpatient services to communities outside Manhattan—making it easier for patients to receive care closer to home.
EwingCole converted a 1950s-era office building into a state-of-the-art ambulatory care center. The LEED Gold-certified facility exemplifies sustainable adaptive reuse, preserving the building’s structure while completely reimagining its interior for advanced cancer treatment.
Design strategies focused on creating a therapeutic environment through natural light, gardens, and interior transparency. Skylights and borrowed light bring warmth and brightness into clinical spaces, while landscaped courtyards and calming finishes support wellness and reduce patient stress.
The result is a modern cancer center that delivers MSKCC’s exceptional standard of care and transforms a dated commercial structure into a destination of healing and hope for patients across Westchester County.
