Joanne brings more than 25 years of experience as an architect and project manager with a focus on multidisciplinary coordination and construction administration for complex sports and entertainment facilities. Since joining EwingCole in October 2023, she has contributed her expertise to projects that require careful coordination, technical precision, and thoughtful client engagement.
Throughout her career, Joanne has contributed to a wide range of sports, entertainment, education, and hospitality projects. Her portfolio includes stadium renovations and expansions, arena improvements, collegiate athletics facilities, and themed entertainment projects. Since joining EwingCole, she has served as Project Manager for the City of Asheville’s McCormick Field, Duke University’s Aquatic Center Lighting, and NC State University’s Doak Baseball Studies.
In addition to her project work, Joanne is actively involved in mentorship, professional development, and community engagement. She participates in EwingCole’s mentorship program as both a mentor and a mentee and supports the firm’s culture initiatives through Women in EC events. Outside the firm, Joanne serves as Co-Chair of the AIA Charlotte Women in Architecture (WIA) Committee and volunteers with Architecture with Girl Scouts, helping introduce young women to careers in design and the built environment.
Joanne earned a Master of Architecture and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology and participated in the Georgia Tech Paris Program at the École des Architecture Tolbiac in Paris, France. She is a registered architect in Florida and North Carolina and is a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.
