NBT Bank Stadium Renovation

Syracuse, NY

Onondaga County oversees NBT Bank Stadium, a 25-year-old facility that required upgrades to secure state funding and finalize a long-term lease agreement with the New York Mets. With a need to extend the stadium’s life, attract fans, and reflect a Major League affiliate experience, the County sought a partner to modernize the park and reestablish its role as a top-tier minor league venue.

EwingCole developed a comprehensive master plan to transform the stadium, focusing on infrastructure upgrades, enhanced fan amenities, and Mets branding. The design team replaced outdated systems, improved circulation, and integrated social spaces and new seating experiences aligned with trends in ballpark design.

Exterior improvements include expanded entrances, a redefined entry plaza, and a bold new color palette in Mets orange and blue. Inside, fans enjoy larger seats, terraced viewing areas behind home plate, sloped lawn seating, and drink rails that enhance the casual viewing experience. The upgraded right-field party deck, redesigned Hank Sauer Room, and new bar elevate the stadium’s social energy.

With enhanced lighting, modern amenities, and a reimagined fan journey, the stadium now offers a professional-level experience that reinforces the team’s identity and Onondaga County’s investment in long-term community value.

“Ewing Cole was perfect for this project. Their vision for this Stadium was more than a renovation, it was a transformation to a building this whole community is proud of. Ewing Cole was professional, efficient and took a comprehensive approach to this project . They immersed themselves into the Mets and Syracuse and the end result is a stadium that is not only visually unique but also functional and built for years to come.”
