Hialeah Park Racetrack, one of the nation’s oldest and most picturesque thoroughbred racing venues, opened in 1921 and earned a place on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. Once hailed as the crown jewel of American racetracks, Hialeah Park closed to the public in 2001 after decades of decline.
To restore the site and reestablish it as a cultural and economic driver, ownership engaged EwingCole to develop a comprehensive master plan for the 200-acre property. The multi-phase redevelopment strategy honors the site’s historic character while introducing modern amenities to attract a new generation of visitors.
The redevelopment includes a 1,000-slot gaming facility with a 25-table poker lounge, 200-seat simulcast room, 100-seat steakhouse, 200-seat buffet, and complete back-of-house support services. In addition to the entertainment offerings, the revitalized racing facilities create exceptional conditions for horses, riders, and spectators. The project repositions Hialeah Park as a vibrant entertainment hub rooted in its legendary past.
