Built for Brotherhood and Big Wins
A bold renovation reflects Rutgers’ football legacy while energizing the next generation of student-athletes.
Brown Family Locker Room
New Brunswick, NJ
Rutgers University, the birthplace of intercollegiate football, carries a proud athletic legacy and a growing commitment to excellence at the Division I level. As the Scarlet Knights continued to compete at the highest level, the university recognized the need for a locker room that matched the caliber and culture of its football program.
The existing facility lacked the atmosphere and functionality expected of a modern collegiate program. Rutgers set out to create a space to build team pride, strengthen camaraderie, and visually represent the program’s values and identity.
The 6,000-square-foot renovation delivers a fully reimagined, high-performance environment for players and coaches.
Key Features:
- 122 custom illuminated lockers
- A 10-foot illuminated “R” logo suspended beneath a perforated metal ceiling
- A 24 video integrated screens integrated throughout the space.
- Dedicated barber area with custom stainless steel and leather finishes
- A Bubble wall water feature adds a personalized touch that reinforces team culture
The space communicates excellence in every detail, offering athletes a facility that motivates, inspires, and connects them to Rutgers’ football tradition.
As a result, the new locker room serves as both a recruiting tool and a daily source of pride—an environment where student-athletes prepare to compete and build lasting bonds.
