A modest addition improving this building’s relationship to Campus Way will enhance the relationship of the Rains Center to the heart of Pomona’s Campus. The planned 20,000 sf addition and 65,000 sf renovation to Rains respects the scale of an adjacent historic student residence hall, addresses future improvements to the nearby Smith Student Center and promotes activity at the campus core. The project provides a social opportunity to promote well-being beyond general fitness activities, enhancing student and faculty recruitment and retention at Pomona College.
