The Physical Education Building is the primary recreation destination on GMU’s Fairfax campus. This renovation and expansion project doubles the current square footage of the building to 120,000 sf. The focal point is the student fitness and strength-training center, visually linked to adjacent gymnasiums and multi-purpose rooms that compliment recreation opportunities for students. Existing support areas have been reconfigured to better serve modern fitness and strength training requirements. The expanded areas meet the current and future demands for multiple recreation opportunities in campus. “The Ewing Cole Team provided the right professional experience to lead us through a comprehensive process in which users and decision makers were involved in every step. Your extensive facility knowledge and understanding of athletics and recreation in the University context helped build a consensus with all stakeholders in the planning process.”, Charles (Mickey) McDade, Senior Associate Athletic Director, George Mason University
