As executive planners and architects, EwingCole developed a comprehensive site and facility master plan for the design of a new, state-of-the-art thoroughbred-racing complex. The 166-acre site features unobstructed views of Mount Rainier and lush landscaping with the most up-to-date dirt racecourse design in the country. Racetrack amenities include parking for 5,363 cars, stabling for 1,400 horses, a one-mile oval dirt racetrack, and a 7.8-mile turf track. The six-level, 250,000 sf multi-purpose grandstand/clubhouse was designed to accommodate the region's existing racing patronage and allows for alternate, income generating uses of the racing facility. The facility provides seating for more than 4,000 trackside patrons, 4,000 non-trackside patrons, and accommodates up to 12,000 within the entire grandstand and immediate grounds. Additional services include a video arcade, picnic areas, four food courts, after-hours sports bars, clubs, banquet and ballroom facilities, a conference center, and multiple-use event center.
