2009 International Illuminating Design Award – Section Award Excellence In Lighting Design The double height atrium utilizes both natural and electric lighting to create a balance of interior and exterior environment. Linear fluorescent pendants line the curtain wall, fading into the structural elements of the architecture. In the evening, the lobby transforms from a sun-filled fast pace transition space, to a tranquil entry and gathering spot. Electric light elements become prominent against the curtain wall backdrop; showing simplistic lines, recessed fixtures and a soft ambient glow. From the exterior of the building, the lobby acts as a glowing beacon. Linear pendants align with the glazing structure while fluorescent coves provide illumination along the ceiling plane. This project was the recipient of a 2009 Illumination Design Award from IESNA.
