For John and his clients, it is the merging of responsibility and accountability. Each project stakeholder has goals and desired outcomes that can easily become lost in the shuffle of decisions and tasks required to occur on a project. Simplifying this process enables everyone to focus on what they do best while collaborating in an environment that marries the best of business and art. Whether it is a small 5000 square foot retro-fit or 400,000 replacement tower and everything in between John has successfully orchestrated teams of owners, users, builders and design professionals to deliver outstanding results day in and day out. “As architects we have an opportunity through the design process to facilitate consensus and transformational change in support of the care and healing of people.”

Director of Design
Saul believes the fundamental driver for designing healthcare facilities lies in the notion of “kindness to strangers”. Healthcare facilities serve individuals undergoing extreme stress due to illness. Their caregivers perform some of the most demanding jobs in our society. To Saul, addressing the well-being of these “strangers” through the design of functional yet elegant and soothing environments is one of the most gratifying roles in the building industry. He brings his training in architecture and landscape architecture to the design process in order to create a seamless experience between the exterior landscape and image of the building to the interior public and medical spaces. He has designed a variety healthcare projects ranging from a new 300,000 square foot hospital pavilion and a new front entrance, to the a new center for medical education . “A facility’s spatial quality, both functional and visual, echoes in the patient’s and caregiver’s mind, from the first glimpse of the building on the site, to the moment of arrival, and into the smallest exam room. The most exciting part of my role as designer is to walk with them.”
