The Cultural Design Group’s master plan, additions and renovations at the Museum Support Center have opened and connected the building’s labs, storage pods and shared spaces in response to the diverse and dynamic pursuits of the Smithsonian’s lively and involved staff. What takes place inside - advanced research, care of an enormous and varied collection – reflects the breadth of SI’s expertise, and EC’s design, which allows as much flexibility as possible to support continuous change in both research and collections management.
